Kitty Nights Burlesque |
In January of 2008, New York burlesque sensation and veteran professional entertainer Burgundy Brixx and her co-host Doug Thoms, (aka The Purrfessor) brought Vancouver audiences a west-coast edition of their much loved long-running New York City Burlesque show. Now, just as the third annual Vancouver International Burlesque Festival has come to a glittering close, Kitty Nights is proud to announce that as of May 18th, they are Vancouver's first WEEKLY Burlesque show! Every Sunday night at 9pm, the Biltmore Cabaret becomes host to Burlesque history in Vancouver. Founded by Fem Appeal with Bar On A and co-produced in New York by Fem Appeal and Burgundy Brixx , Kitty Nights' goal is to feature the best talent from all across the neo-burlesque community as well as special guest stars from across the globe. Kitty Nights (in kind cooperation with Vancouver burlesque fixtures Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society), will be treating Vancouver audiences to New York style burlesque at the newly renovated Biltmore Cabaret as a part of their weekly schedule. Fem Appeal will continue to produce Kitty Nights' original weekly show in New York, while Burgundy Brixx will be producing the Vancouver show. "Kitty Nights is actually the first international sisterhood of burlesque productions."; says Burgundy. "At this time when Burlesque is really moving into the mainstream with weekly burlesque shows in major cities like New York, Chicago, LA, London and Seattle, this really shows that Vancouver is taking its rightful place beside them as another great world-class city!" What makes Kitty Nights different? Kitty Nights has a very distinct quality of clever innocence mixed with good clean naughtiness! A carnival-like atmosphere where EVERYONE's having a good time with a different lineup each week of performers of all shapes, sizes and colors! And Kitty Nights encourages the NYC tradition of performance-art styled burlesque while simultaneously tributing the delicious early years of classic strip-tease, leaving the audience fully satiated in mind, body and spirit! |
